Second Annual AmazinGrace 5K to Benefit Providence Medical Clinic,
Opening This Summer in Downtown Kingsport
First Baptist Church of Kingsport invites individuals and families of all ages to participate in the second annual AmazinGrace 5K, to benefit Providence Medical Clinic, a free medical clinic that will open its doors to the community this summer. The 5K event, building on the success of its inaugural run last year, will be held Sunday, May 23, in downtown Kingsport, and will also include a Kids Festival of Miles, a free One Mile Fun Run/Walk, and Family Fun Activities – inflatables for the kids, Christian music, health information, food concessions, and fellowship.
The event will take place across from First Baptist Church Kingsport, at the intersection of Clay and Sullivan Streets. The 5K feature event (chip timed) will begin at 7:00 pm, the free One Mile Fun Run/Walk will begin at 6:30 pm, the Kids Festival of Miles (chip timed) will begin at 6:15 pm, and the Family Fun Activities will be held from 5:30 – 8:00 pm. Awards for the 5K race will be presented immediately following the race.
Pre-registration is now open for the 5K main event, which features a certified, flat, fast downtown course. The fee is $15 through May 17 and $20 after May 17. Late Registration/Packet Pick-up for the race will be held Saturday, May 22, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Fleet Feet Sports, 1880 North Eastman Road, Kingsport, and Sunday, May 23, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at First Baptist Church Kingsport.
Pre-registration is also now open for the Kids Festival of Miles ($10) and for the One Mile Fun Fun/Walk, which is free to all participants. Registration is required for all race events.
Entry forms for all races are available at www.fbckpt.org and www.fbcamazingrace5K.blogspot.com. The course route can be viewed online. Entry forms are also available in the church office at 200 West Church Circle, Kingsport.
One hundred percent of all race proceeds will go to support Providence Medical Clinic, a new free clinic that will begin serving the community this summer. Providence Medical Clinic will offer free medical care to residents of Sullivan County with limited financial resources.
