ABINGDON, Va. – Wellmont Health System's newest facility, which treats everything from minor illnesses to heart conditions, is open for business at Exit 19 off Interstate 81.
Wellmont Urgent Care at 24530 Falcon Place Drive, Suite 100, beside Lowe's, started seeing patients today. It is open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. weekdays and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The phone number is (276) 619-0075.
Medical professionals at the facility deliver treatment of basic illness and provide X-ray and laboratory services and imaging. Wellmont has applied for a certificate of need from the state for a CT scanner.
No appointments are necessary.
Wellmont Urgent Care also offers on-site physical therapy and occupational medicine. People can receive pre-employment physicals, department of transportation testing, drug screens, worker's compensation care and ergonomic examinations of workplaces.
Earlier this month, the Wellmont CVA Heart Institute relocated its office to Suite 101 of this two-story building. The office provides consultations with cardiologists and services such as echocardiograms, nuclear stress tests, carotid ultrasounds and Holter and event monitors.
