Shepherd Center Big Band Concert and Dance


KINGSPORT—The Shepherd Center of Kingsport will hold its annual Big Band Concert and Dance featuring the Has Beens and co-sponsored by Altrusa International, Inc, of Kingsport, Monday, June 18, from 7:00-9:00 pm, in St. Dominic’s Catholic Church Fellowship Hall. The concert and dance has proved a very popular fundraiser for the Shepherd Center for approximately fourteen years and attracts fans of the Big Band era from all over the region. The event will be held in the Fellowship Hall of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 2517 N. John B. Dennis Highway in Kingsport.
           
In addition to the concert and dance, there will be a Cakewalk, Silent Auction and Found Treasures Table. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased from a Board member, at Shakar Antiques (245 Broad Street), and from the Shepherd Center (423-392-4514). Proceeds benefit the Shepherd Center of Kingsport, a non-profit United Way agency that provides programs and services to older adults throughout the Greater Kingsport area with the goal of helping them live independently in their own homes.
