Greetings
How many of us remember our Momma saying, "Well, I bought this because it has the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval"? Just what does that mean? Good Housekeeping was started in 1885 as a magazine to produce and perpetuate perfection as may be obtained in the household. To achieve those high standards, GH Magazine made a commitment to only advertise the very best products. Still to this day, for GH to even accept advertising from any product, the GH Research Institute must first approve it. From that point it has the opportunity to receive the ultimate vote of confidence – The Good Housekeep Seal of Approval.
Since 1909, the Seal has backed worthy products while simultaneously validating consumer purchases. According to GH, its seal is "an emblem of the magazine's consumer policy". Full refunds or replacements of a defective product are backed with the promise of the Seal. And that's one heck of a promise. It is for that reason that the AARC does not take its Seal of Approval lightly. We want the AARC Seal of Approval to be as well respected and convey a seal of excellence for each of the communities that have received the Seal.
The AARC Seal of Approval has been around for several years but has just introduced a user-friendly website RetirementDestiinations.org to provide unbiased information on retirement communities for buyers and to showcase their Seal of Approval recipients. The AARC is a great resource for retirement communities, and we knew that we could provide an equivalent resource for folks looking to move to one. The AARC Seal of Approval program recognizes communities and master-planned developments that possess the resources and amenities to attract today's relocating retirees, evaluating such areas as Quality of Life (healthcare, retiree-appropriate housing, Adult Education, Services, Recreational and Cultural Opportunities, Crime Rate and more) and formal commitment to retiree attraction and programs.
We want to become known in the retiree circles as "We moved to an AARC Seal of Approval Community". Check out the AARC website and RetirementDestinations.org and see why your community should be among this elite list.

| | AARC Seal of Approval
The AARC's Seal of Approval program has received a lot of attention recently!
An article appeared in a custom retirement magazine done in conjunction with the Ideal Retirement shows in the Washington, DC area and in central New Jersey. The full-page feature appeared in 300,000 copies of the piece – and Seal of Approval communities received a discount for advertising to that audience!
Savannah, GA and The Landings have been heavily promoting the Seal of Approval that was earned by the region's retirement co-op, RetireSavannah, in 2012. In addition to custom e-blasts with Links Magazine and other list partners (over 70,000 recipients in total), an article on Savannah's award appeared in Met Golfer and the Wall Street Journal's real estate magazine over the past few weeks.
We have also had some recent additions to the list of Seal of Approval communities – both Compass Pointe in North Carolina and Green Valley Recreation in Arizona have been added to the growing list. More communities have also inquired or expanded their presence on the new buyer-focused website, www.RetirementDestinations.org.
With the promotion that is out there – not to mention the 10,000+ Baby Boomers turning 60 every day, looking for answers – the AARC Seal of Approval program is the right place at the right time! | | |

The American Association of Retirement Communities is excited that the island paradise, Hilton Head, South Carolina will host the 2013 Annual Conference. Hilton Head Island is home to the PGA's RBC Heritage Golf Classic, played on Sea Pines Harbour Town Golf Links with its iconic lighthouse at the 18th hole. This area, with its lush semi tropical setting, offers much to do and see for conference attendees including great golf, pristine beaches and outlet shopping. We are sure that you will enjoy your time "on Island". The Conference Committee is busy planning the agenda and speaker line-up.
